Here is a picture of a design that I stitched out. I won the 1999 "Everybody Loves Sulky" contest - Home Dec category. I stitched it out on my Viking #1+ using the Plus Hoop. It is 12 sections (6 hoopings with the Plus Hoop). I used Sulky rayon and metallic threads. I used black weaver's cloth as my fabric and a heavy tear-away stabilizer held with KK2000 spray. It really is quite large. I put the pattern into the computer using Uli Tessel's beta cross stitch program. I divided it up and converted it to the correct format and placed each section. Back then this was very hard to do. Now a lot of the same procedures are automated with the newer software. I couldn't have done this without the Material Setters by Coral Clark. The Material Setters make it much easier to precisely place your hoopings. With 6 hoopings of the Plus Hoop and a cross stitch design, you need precision! I made this from an original pattern, "Oriental Dragon" © 1986,1999, The Vermillion Stitchery. You can get the pattern from the Vermillion Stitchery site - http://www.vsccs.com/index.html I would not have entered this into the contest if it wasn't for the encouragement of my husband, Bob, and my daughter, Jeanine. Thank you for your faith in me! |
