Most folks know Rebecca as "Rebecca in Northern Lower MI."  Here are some of her MANY projects.  Read what Rebecca has to say about her projects below each picture.

When I saw the Deb Strain CD, Thru The Years, I knew I had to have it and of course the calendar that matches!  Each month I am making a towel to hang on a hanger beside the calendar.  (It's amazing how fast those months have flown by and it's time to make a new towel!)
January:  I thought the pineapple design was a very fitting welcome to the designs.  I made the towel out of material that I had and used my new ruffler foot.  I wish I would have purchased the foot long ago.  Makes such nice neat pleats.
February:  Hearts and love abound on this months selection.  I attached the band to the gingham towel with prairie points.  Prairie Points have always been a favorite of mine.
March:  The background (sky) of this design is appliquéd material.  The towel itself was just placemat from Meijers.
April:  For April's design I just couldn't come up with a traditional towel material, so I just used material from my stash.  These towels are for decorative purposes (!) only so it worked out just fine.  There are also borders that go along with each design and this one said, "Grow Old With Me, The Best Is Yet To Be."
May:  I was fabric shopping and I spied this material that I knew would go with the May design.  Lo and Behold it was a Deb Strain collection.  (Am I beginning to sound like an advertisement?)  I did something a little different with this one.  The background (sky) material is appliquéd on.  So once I got the single stitching embroidered out that holds the material down I backed up to do that again.  This trip around I laid down eyelet and went very slowly with the stitching.  Then I continued on as usual the eyelet was appliquéd on right along with the background material!  I added eyelet to the whole bottom of the towel on finishing.
Here is a close up of the details.
June:  For this months I just embroidered the design directly on the towel.  For two reasons, I thought it would look o.k. (as the design would stand out from the towel material) and I was running out of time, June got here before I knew it!
July:  This design just has it all for summer-watering cans, flowers, birdhouses, flags, and even a bird nest.  My friend Sherry had major surgery and has decorated her house in Americana and this design was perfect on a towel for her.  I placed the design on burgundy material, edged it with piping and added it to a purchased towel.
August:  This design just spoke of cool breezes to me.  I placed it on a purchased towel the closest I could come to for the color of sand.  The anchors are cut, copied and pasted from the border section for August.
September:  The kids are back in school!  I placed this design directly on a purchased towel.  The apples above the sq. are cut from the design and pasted in an arch.  The note paper and bell come from the border design and the words School Days come from the Viking Kids font.  (BTW mine are ALL finally in school all day!)
October:  When October is over I will hate putting this towel away, I really like this design, it has so much texture.  The towel is just made from some material that I found in my stash with acorns and oak leaves on it.
November:  This towel has the two things in it that I collect.  Apples and
Angels.  (nice that my daughters name was Angel!)  The design is sewn out on a piece of material and then put on a towel that I made out of some apple material I found in my stash, along with ruffles made with my ruffler.
Patriotic wall hangings - Wall hangings made for the kids class rooms. Designs purchased from Embroidery Library. Murphy split Rick's and I did Angel's.

Note from Murphy - nice job, Rebecca.  Your kids are growing up so fast!  I know they were very proud to take in these wonderful patriotic wall hangings that you made for them.  Angel and Rick are so lucky to have such a creative Mom!

These are really great!  I like the colors you used for the towels.  They really match the designs nicely.  Thank you for sharing!

A personal note from Murphy about Rebecca - she is all the time making up wonderful gifts that she gives away.  She is a very generous and kind person!
